Achieving success as a garment importer or exporter requires maintaining good quality of garments, timely delivery, and several other factors to be considered.

Especially the garment exporters India who are exporting goods like garments, apparels, accessories, textile, etc to other foreign countries must plan out long term and short term strategy planning for overall success. In order to succeed in the country’s textile and garment sector scenario, the garment exporters India need to plan their micro – level strategies intelligently for an entirely win-win situation. Everything starting from quality of the product to providing different varieties to development of latest designs to product warranty to time management to generation of new business leads should be taken care of effectively. These are some of the things to be considered for leading the trade.

Providing quality goods.

No matter which trade you are involved in, but the guarantee of success comes with quality assurance. If you have established maximum quality control at each and every stage of weaving, processing, garmenting and finishing of the garments, then your final product is bound to attract the buyers. Strict quality inspections ensure that your company builds a strong brand reputation.

Providing different varieties

In order to ensure interest of the buyers and having an edge over competitiveness, it is important to present product diversification in the garments to be exported. The garment exporters India should try to add the element of newness to their collection by introducing range of garment collection season-wise like spring-summer collection, autumn-winter collection, etc. They should also try to add new variants to their collection in terms of segmenting the garments like nightwear, evening wear, corporate clothing, lingerie, casual wear, etc.

Timely deliveries

One of the most important things that add to the reputation of the garment exporters India is their punctual services. Hence it is most important for every trader to ensure that his final products are delivered on time. Despite manufacturing the final products on time sometimes a consignment gets delayed due to unknown reasons like ingressives and lazy attitude of the middleman involved, delay from the shipping agencies, problems at customs clearance, etc.

Though there are many ups and downs in the business cycle of the garment importer and importers, but with a little help from the leading database companies like Infodrive India, you can succeed in this global trade. The company provides a comprehensive list of shipping companies, brokers, import export policies and the countries guidelines in regards to the trade.

An international tax attorney is, by definition, what you would assume – an individual who gives advice, knowledge, and deals with all issues related to taxation issues and business transactions (and other facets) across the globe. International tax laws, as Michael Graetz put it, “resolve the competing claims of residence and source nations.” These rules are set up to outline the cross border income authority on taxation for each country. These rules can address anything from transfer pricing, residency, source income, and further trade jargon.

But an international tax attorney isn’t some high falutin’ official-the truth is, he/she is simply a lawyer with an area of expertise who can give you the ins and outs of the applicable rules. Some of them have specific knowledge on certain countries, but most of the time, because international tax rules and trade laws are often similar from country to country, their general global knowledge will suffice. If it doesn’t, the best part is that as an expert, they will know exactly who to send you to so you can get your question answered. That’s an International tax attorney job. They’re hooked in to everyone and every organization that is related to their field, which allows them to help you even if they can’t directly help you.

Something you also need to remember-a lot of tax advisers-international or no-can give accurate international tax advice even if they don’t claim to specialize in off-shore transactions.

Which is where Tax Planner CPA, LP network comes in. We are right in the thick of the taxation-international and domestic-community, and if our lawyers and CPAs don’t have the answer to one of your questions, you bet we know someone who will, and we will gladly point you in that direction.

The point is this: know the labels and definitions, but don’t get caught up in them-all the distinctions will make your head spin. With Tax Planner CPA we’ll make those distinctions for you. Why not make it all much easier for yourself or your company?

There is of course a lot more to know and do before you are really ready to jump in the International arena, but all of it is rather straightforward and an extensive Eco system exists to support you to do it successfully. Below are some of the important things you need to do:

First thing to do is Market Research, You can do it yourself or hire a consultant to do all or part of the research. The objective is to select an initial target market in a well-defined geographic territory and a local sales channel appropriate for your item. With the help of your local partner and potential customers, you will need to understand the selected market’s requirements for price, style, packaging, labeling, etc. for your product taking into account export/import regulations and cultural preferences.

If you intend to use a distributor for selling your product, you first have to select a distributor and create a legally binding agreement with the distributor. Prior to committing anything in writing, conduct a thorough due diligence on potential distributors such as, checking on their track record, verifying their commitment to your product, etc. Keep the agreement concise, cover all aspects of business operations, responsibilities and money flow in advance.

You can do it yourself but it will not be easy. A thorough knowledge of export paper requirements for your product is a must. Alternately you can use an international freight forwarder or an integrator for this purpose. A friendly and experienced freight forwarder can be a very valuable partner that can take care of numerous export issues, reduce your shipping costs and free you to attend to what you know best: producing and marketing your product. If you have simple and infrequent shipments with no personalized service required, an integrator such as UPS may be a good choice.

Develop working knowledge of export payment mechanisms. Your choices include cash, letter of credit, open account etc. Cash payments can be in the form of wire transfer, check or credit card, wire transfer is the safest option. You need to be aware of the issues with checks and credit cards (processing fee, delay in collection, fraud etc.) A letter of credit is issued by a bank on behalf of the buyer in favor of the seller. In effect, the bank promises to make the payment to the buyer upon presentation of the documents listed in the letter of credit. There are further nuances to many forms of letter of credit that affect terms and timing of the payment. Open account i.e. waiting for the payment after goods are shipped and received by the buyer is the most risky of the methods and should be avoided or used only in a known and proven relationship.

The availability of working capital for an export transaction is important for worry free operations. You may make use of the credit of the foreign buyer for this purpose (through a transferable letter of credit.

Your local, regional, national, or international chambers of commerce are a good source of information and support. Export.gov set up by the US Commercial Service has detailed research reports specific to many industry sectors in numerous countries written by experts in International trade. You can also sign up and make use of extensive services offered by the US commercial service. Export consulting companies can be very helpful in getting you up and running in no time.

One must not forget that you are sending your product overseas to make a profit. If you pay too much to send your goods, then you may not make enough of a profit to continue your enterprise. Raising your prices is a valid option but at a certain point you will be too expensive for people to afford. A more practical alternative is to lower costs and shipping is a good as place as any to start.

To lower the cost of your shipping you need to understand how the industry works. Whenever you ship goods you are buying space on the freighter. There is a limited amount of space and, of course, the more space you occupy the higher the payment the air or sea freight company would demand.

One of the good ways to lower the cost of your shipment is by using boxes that are just big enough to fit your product. A reduction of the box to give a snug fit will lower your shipping costs, however, be wary of making it too small because you do not want to break the package requiring you to send another one over.

The size of the box is also important. A square and a rectangular box is recommended because it keeps its shape better even if it is put on top of each other. Circular boxes do not stack well and can cause the price for shipping to rise.

Shaving off a few pounds in your shipment can also help lower your costs. You can lower the costs by choosing light weight packing materials.

A shipping space like any other commodity becomes cheaper when it is bought wholesale. You can either buy a specific amount of space for a longer period of time or you can buy a larger space for a lower rate. You can just fill in the difference with more customers, offering a better rate.

You can also buy cargo space in advance. Shipping companies want to sell their spaces early and they are willing to give massive discounts to allocate those spaces. It is important that they utilize the ship to near its full capacity so that there would not be any wasted opportunity.

These are some of the cheap ways a person can lower the amount of money they spend on shipping their goods to their customers. You can learn more by talking to expert customs broker and trying out these tips and finding out new methods.

Over the last twenty years, Vietnam has been undergoing a transformation from a centrally planned economy to a market economy and over that time, Vietnam has experienced significant growth.

This is good news for the international freight transport sector and shipping companies involved in trade with Vietnam as their business will grow at the same time as the Vietnam economy.

In 2009, export turnovers were over 56 billion US dollars, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam. This reflected a decline of approximately 10% from the previous year.

Vietnam’s single largest export is crude oil, which accounted for 11% of earnings from exports in 2009.

Vietnam’s other main exports part from crude oil are textiles, footwear and garments, rice, coffee, rubber and coal. Aquaculture is also an important source of export business as well as processed forest products.

At present, the exports from Vietnam are dominated by agricultural products but this is all set to change as Vietnam increases its industrial base. Already, 5% of earnings are accounted for by electronic equipment. As the country continues to develop its industrial base, the freight services infrastructure will continue to develop to support it. The main markets for exports from Vietnam are the United States, accounting for nearly 20% of exports, followed by Japan, China, Australia and Singapore.

Economic relations between Vietnam and the United States are improving but impeded by Vietnam’s record in human rights. Nevertheless, there have been great strides forwards in economic relations over the last decade and this is reflected in the current level of freight transport. A landmark bilateral agreement in December 2001 significantly boosted the level of Vietnam’s exports to the United States.

The most important imports to Vietnam are commodities, including petroleum products, steel, fertilizer, electronics, machinery and equipment. Most imports come from China, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia.

Overall, the main trading partners of Vietnam are currently Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan and the European Union. At present trade with the Asian economies makes up 80% of all Vietnam trade. This actually represents a changed picture as up until 1990, most Vietnam trade was with the Soviet Union.

Most businesses in Vietnam are small and medium sized enterprises and in attempting to embrace the opportunities of globalisation, many turn to freight companies for advice and support. So the freight forwarding sector is itself an important catalyst in the growth of the Vietnam economy.

Product shipments are sent between destinations through multiple carriers. Most companies do not have the resources needed to handle this kind of shipping on their own. Shipping services are the most reasonable alternative because they provide security and stability with each shipment. International transport has an abundance of custom laws and border issues that must be dealt with appropriately. If the documentation and other requirements are not performed properly, shipments can be delayed and money may be lost. To circumvent these issues, critical shipping providers have many policies and processes set in place that ensure all shipment details and documentation is completed and thoroughly looked over before the shipment goes out. Trying to perform these processes without help can prove to be quite a burden for a company. Not every business that transports goods needs this extensive service. How do you know if your business can benefit? Learning about this service will help in evaluating whether or not this option is right your company’s current shipping situation.

A critical shipping company guarantees on time delivery once the merchandise has been put in their hands. They assure that the product will arrive at the specified location on the desired date. If the product is damaged, insurance will take care of the loss. Shipping companies develop strong relationships providers of sea, land, and air freight transportation. Critical shipping for businesses involves finding the best price and route for a shipment. Bids are placed by various carriers for the transport. The estimates are then evaluated to determine which carrier will meet the date and cost requirements without risking shipment reliability. After a bid is chosen, the service fee is added to the cost and then presented to the client. If accepted, the client prepares the goods for shipping. Everything else from the time of pick-up to drop off is taken care of by the shipping forwarder.

The actual transport process is not the only task a critical shipping provider can supply. Supportive services that are needed for international transport may also be available. These often include product insurance, shipping documentation, and custom clearance. Some also supply warehousing for products, risk management, international compensation, and bills of lading. Indenting, cargo handling, and container services can be extra services offered by these companies. Most shipping services have a professional infrastructure that includes many qualified workers that assist with each level of the transport process.

A dependable service will be known for their outstanding customer service. Exceptional customer service in this industry occurs when the provider knows the clients exact wishes and makes certain they are met during the transports entirety. They have the ability to safely ship dangerous, fragile, and perishable goods along with a logistics program for importing and exporting. Price is configured by the shipping distance, special service needs, and the number of carriers required.

If your business is not moving along as quickly as you would like, then it is highly recommended that you start looking online for a place you can submit your website to. These online directories which link directly to many countries all over the world for targets of exporting/importing are becoming increasingly popular. Businesses that need to make a name for themselves will want to consider this as a very viable option. There really is no other way of increasing your profit so much in such a little period of time with a minimal amount of effort on your part.

If you have been trying to break into new markets around the world but have not been successful in doing so previously, then submitting the website URL for your business to an international directory could work in your favor. Instead of having to take the time out of your day to individually submit your website to directories for each country, you will be able to find one that will give you access to all of them. This ultimately saves you a lot of time and money which could otherwise be spent on other aspects of your business.

Many companies have reported an almost immediate spike in profits once their website was successfully submitted to a directory like this. Your link will go out to millions of people around the world looking for a wide range of products, from electronics to clothing. No matter what your company makes/produces, there are multiple places around the world that you can do business with. There are so many different markets waiting to be broken into be companies from all over. By paying a one-time fee and submitting your website to an international directory, you can get the kind of recognition for your company that you have been looking for. Sometimes it can be difficult to do this domestically, which is why so many businesses are going abroad.

The steps needed to complete submission to a directory like this is simple and quick, so you won’t have to spend an hour or two filling out unnecessary and tedious forms. All you must do is type in your email, name, website URL that you wish submitted to the directory, and the process can begin. In no time you will begin to notice a real difference in profit. Once your URL is linked to multiple places on the web, you will increase your company’s earning potentially exponentially.

With sea or ocean transport, more specifically, there are two ways of loading goods: by Full Container Load (FCL) or Less-than-Container Load (LCL). These pertain to the amount of space that is taken up by a single consignee in a container. Depending on the choice, price and security may differ.

Full Container Load, as its name suggests, is utilized in international shipping when one consignee has enough objects to transport to fill up one whole container. These containers measure from 20 to 40 feet and can definitely store a lot of content. By using FCL, clients can rent, or sometime even buy, the whole space to accommodate all their belongings.

Less-than-Container Load, on the other hand, will have the consignee’s packages share space with other people’s items to be able to fill one or more containers. This is a cheaper alternative since one person does not have enough to fill the whole container.

When shipping by water, consignees should always make sure that their items are secure and all safety measures are applied. Taking out breakable parts like bulbs, reinforcing and repairing loose parts, and covering with bubble wrap are examples of damage preventive measures that consignees can follow.

‘Buy one get one free’ offers simply won’t have the same effect when you’re dealing with professional clients. While it can be tempting to try and market on lower cost and the traditional consumer value points, it’s neccessary that you take control of your marketing and direct your efforts more towards delivering true value to the businesses you’re serving.

Flashy sales letters might be hottest trend when it comes to direct marketing to consumers (especially online), but bright red headlines designed to capture a prospect’s attention aren’t nearly as effective when it comes to pitching to business clients. Instead, a much more personalized method to marketing that sees you integrate your services into their business plan will deliver value to both sides. This makes you each a more valuable asset to have on each other’s side – whether you’re selling toilet paper or legal services.

Think about it for a second – professional buyers are used to being pitched on the business value and common sense underlying a particular deal, and will as a consequence be most reluctant to give in to any overt pressure sales tactics. Remember – for the most part, the clients you serve in a B2B market will have their own sales function, and will already be familiar with the tricks of the trade. Sell to these clients as they want to be sold to – not as your current processes permit. That means allowing the buyer to make up his or her mind, with you simply acting as a facilitator to make it happen.

That’s not to say you should be setting a rigorous face-to-face appointment schedule with all of your B2B clients (although some industries may demand this as standard performance). Instead, you should attempt to build and foster relationships with your clients on a personal level, while ensuring you continue to provide products and services that make sense both financially and in terms of their quality. Email and telephone conversations usually suffice, and the impact of consistently delivering on your promises for clients certainly plays a massive role.

B2B marketing online is a softer process, working best when it’s built in around your existing marketing strategies. Tactics like email marketing can be effective, but only if you target business owners correctly. Getting your website noticed and enhancing your online brand is the first step, but the real struggle with pitching to B2B clients is getting to ‘yes’ and seeing the deal through, which more often than not is a much more involved, personal process.

Even more so than consumers, business customers will quickly spend their money elsewhere if it represents a better value proposition. This means that it’s absolutely essential to build defenses around your business and the services you offer to grow a sustainable, long-term enterprise. Integrate your services into each of your clients’ respective business plan and act like an extended member of their business team rather than a salesperson. This is usually the best and quickest step to reach true success with commercial clients.
